Beta Kappa Sigma Chapter, was organized by Syntaktes Soror Alta Benning June 1948 in Tampa, Florida. Charter members included Sorors Doretha Adams Carrington, Johna B. Andrews, Catherine Black Griffin, Willie B. Jones Gallon, Elsie Dunbar, and Myrtle Lockhart.

Members of Beta Kappa Sigma have worked on many national projects over the years such as Operation BigBookBag, Hattie McDaniel Cancer Awareness initiatives, Swim 1922 and the Youth Symposium. Additionally, our members are active within our communities helping serve in civic, social, and religious positions. The Beta Kappa Sigma chapter works in conjunction with our communities to provide service such as toy drives, clothing and blanket collection, voter registration, school supply collections, mentoring programs, and monetary support.

For 70+ years, leading with class and serving with excellence has been a staple among The Beta Kappa Sigma chapter members. We will forever continue to serve our communities through "Greater Service, Greater Progress".
